Body Symbolism

Let’s delve into the Spiritual/Metaphysical origin of the body and its symptoms. Gain deeper insight into Illness and symptoms, what they mean and why they occur. Let’s explore the spiritual origin of illness and symptoms, the body as an expression of consciousness, the language of symptoms, and much more! A deeper understanding of illness and its symptoms expands our perception of the body and sets the foundation for healing. Find out what your symptoms are telling you! This workshop is not meant to be used in lieu of traditional treatment. 

Canning Jams and Jellies

Capture fresh, local fruit while it’s in season with homemade jams and jellies! Learn how to use less sugar in canning, learn about different types of pectin and recommended preserving methods from UMaine Extension Master Food Preserver staff. Participants will receive recipes and a jar of jam. Please bring a potholder with you to class. There is a $20 materials fee paid directly to instructor. 

Tae Kwon Do for Adults (Summer)

Tae Kwon Do is a great way to become physically and mentally fit while having fun! Learn valuable life long skills – respect, self-confidence, and courage, all while practicing self-defense techniques. We stress going at your own pace and strive to help you on your journey Free uniform for your first session! (Beginners are asked to arrive at 5:30  and stay for the second class as well.)

Mt. Katahdin is #2 on National Geographic’s top 10 summits worldwide! Check Baxter Park and Mt. Katahdin off your bucket list (weather permitting!) AND enjoy great camp cooking with Registered Maine Guide and chef Chris Toy for 3 days, Sept. 23 - Sept. 25. There will be a required meeting one month before the trip. This is a strenuous trip requiring uphill hiking for 6 hours at a stretch carrying a backpack weighing at least 12 lbs. Please note: Our group will stay together for the whole trip. We will gain the summit as a team or no one will.

Chris Toy will host an Info Night on Tuesday, June 26 at 7:00 pm, Freeport Middle School Library. Please email Kelli at parkk@rsu5.org if you plan to attend.

Price: $175 (includes Registered Maine Guide, camping fees, 2 breakfasts, 2 dinners, and 1 lunch). Transportation is not included.

Guided and organized by a native from Berlin – now living in Freeport, ME - you will dive into the city from day one, and bring back unforgettable memories. Everything will be organized for you, so you can relax, while absorbing the city's vibe.

Come and join us for an informal and free Berlin Evening at the Freeport Library on September 20, 2018, at 7 p.m. On that night, Valeska Hornschild-Bear will talk about Berlin's history as well as the itineray ofthat trip. Everyone is welcome!

Tour of Flavors: Union and Appleton

Fall in love with Midcoast Maine’s farm country and discover the hidden gems of Appleton and Union! They have it all, as far as local flavors go! Explore the rolling hills of Appleton: enjoy a tour of Glendarragh Lavender Farm, learn about making goat cheese at Appleton Creamery, and savor a mouth-watering, locally-sourced lunch at Deer Foot Farm Market. Next stop: Highcroft Farm! Discover the art of spinning and dyeing yarn (from resident sheep, goats, and angora rabbits!), tour the farm, gardens, and gift shop (featuring handmade goods, art and antiques). Last, but not least: Sweetgrass Winery in Union! Enjoy a wine tasting with scenic views of the Medomak Valley to fully appreciate the flavors of the region. Summer is on its way, so let’s celebrate in true Maine style! Lunch, wine tasting and tour included in cost. Please wear appropriate footwear for walking and dress in layers for the weather. Rain or shine. Please bring an insulated cooler bag if you plan to purchase grocery items at the farms.

Zumba Gold: Monday: Session III

Like Zumba® Fitness, Zumba® Gold is based on zesty Latin and international rhythms, and easy-to-follow moves. Scientists say that “dancing is the best way to get fit and live longer.” Best of all, it’s FUN! You can do it! Join us, and see what it’s all about! Now offering separate sessions two days a week. This session will begin at South Freeport Church and move to Freeport Middle School at the end of the school year. 

Drop-In Rate: $6 per class
