Our annual fall trip will combine both the historic 10-acre living history museum of Strawbery Banke and the premier fall festival of New Hampshire in one location. Strawbery Banke offers visitors 300 years of history through its many restored buildings and the stories of the families who lived and worked there. Costumed role players, interpreters, and demonstrations by the numerous crafts people in Strawbery Banke offers a day to be remembered by visitors enjoying the sights, sounds, and smells of an earlier time. New Hampshire’s premier fall festival held on the grounds of the museum is a traditional New England country fair complete with demonstrations by a shoemaker, gun maker, canvas rigger, horner, tinsmith, quilters, and weavers to name some of the occupations you will observe. Livestock exhibits and demonstrations by a sheepherder, animal wrangler, shepherds and herding dogs, and a rabbit warden will complete the day. Be sure to add this to your fall “must see” list!” Food and beverages are available at the Cafe located at the Welcome Center at Strawbery Banke or by taking a short walk into Portsmouth.
