$59

with Kelli Park

Calendar Sep 4, 2019 at 9 am

If you’ve never been to Seguin Island, this is your chance! This beautiful little island is a true gem! Enjoy hiking trails, 360 degree views from rugged cliffs, and an endless ocean horizon! Seguin Island is a 64-acre island two miles off the coast of Phippsburg, home of Maine’s second oldest lighthouse! Seguin Light is the only lighthouse in the state using a first-order Fresnel lens and is also the highest lighthouse in the state at 180 feet above sea level. Let’s tour the museum and the lighthouse with the caretakers, and learn about local legends - Seguin has the reputation of being the most haunted lighthouse in Maine. This is one island you’ll want to visit again and again! Don’t miss this opportunity to discover the little-known secret of this gorgeous island! We will travel to the island on a small ferry boat. Please dress appropriately for the weather; bring layers, shoes that can get wet (sandals) AND shoes for walking, a bag lunch and a bottle of water, sunscreen, motion sickness treatment (if desired), and a sense of adventure! Please note that everything is carry in-carry out and there is one outhouse available on the island. The initial hike is a steep incline, so please note that this trip is designed for active individuals. In the event of rain or rough seas, the rain date will be Wednesday, September 11.
